A sign of things to come

Personally I think we've done well to get to the grand old age of 6 before requiring stitches - 4 to be precise.  It all happened with 2 silly boys (Tom and Hunter) and Tom's new skateboard which for some inexplicable reason they were trying to skate off a step.  Unfortunately Tom was lying on the floor as Hunter lost control of the skateboard and it went zooming into Tom's eyebrow.  Tom was remarkably brave cracking jokes making the doctor and nurse laugh as he was being stitched up.  He is strictly not allowed to get his wound wet for the next 5 days and it is going to be 30 degrees every day for the next 5 days - arghhh!

Two of Tom's comments as he lay in shock under a blanket waiting for the doctor:
 - "I need both my parents" - cue tears from me
 - "Mum - I don't want to play rugby"
and another typical Tom question to the nurse once he'd been sewn up and had got down from the bed feeling rather chipper:
 - "Do you want me to show you a 360?" (his current speciality - a 360 degree jump) just the thing when you're woozy from anaesthetic!!

OUCHIE! Poor little wombat. Really though, I'm surprised it's taken this long. Let's hope it's NOT a sign of things to come! xx
