Pre-christmas celebrations

We're getting very close to the end of term now and it feels like I'm up at school every second day for some celebration/meeting or other.  On Monday I had the P&C (Parents & Citizens) meeting where I presented my report on the school canteen along with a new proposed pricing methodology and the justification for hiring an extra person to help out in the canteen.  I enjoyed doing all the spreadsheet work and pulling the report together as it's important to try and keep up some of my spreadsheeting skills!  It was suggested that I might like to be the P&C canteen representative but I had to decline as next year I'll be running Senior Band which I primarily put my hand up to do so that Tess couldn't say she didn't want to do band - the lengths we go to...
Tom's year group - he's right in the middle wearing a santa hat
Tess' year group - she's also in the middle but partly hidden behind the boy with blond hair
On Thursday the school held it's annual carol concert which is fantastic.  It's held on the netball courts, the parents get to sit in the shade of the trees, each year performs one song and it's all over within 30 mins!

Paper crowns are obligatory!
The Jamos arrived for the weekend on Friday morning so I gave the kids the day off school and we went to pick them up from the airport.  The kids immediately slotted in with each other again and we had a very relaxing day with lots of swimming.  On Saturday evening we held a Christmas celebration with the Mennies.  We sang some carols around the piano, Tom played the guitar, we opened tons of presents, we ate Christmas dinner, we played hunt the thimble and the kids destroyed my gingerbread house.  It was a brilliant evening with everyone together again.

The sign that we're getting old is that we were all relatively fresh headed the next morning so after a bit of lazing around we went on a bushwalk and came back to a long leisurely lunch of leftover turkey and pavlova.  A little bit more swimming and then it was time for the Jamos to head back to Melbourne.  A fantastic weekend.

Next weekend John and Rae arrive - yippee!!!!
