We were supposed to head up to the farm for Easter but there was a lot of media around avoiding non-essential travel and police roadblocks so we decided not to risk it. Instead, Jules ordered 6 cubic metres of earth for us to transport down to the garden in a hope of trying to create an area that we can turf. We set up quite a good production line between the 4 of us but Jules and I had forgotten how much teenagers complain about a bit of hard work. It's also incredible how creative teenagers can be when they really don't want to do something. At our first water stop (after only 45 mins of carrying earth down to the garden), the kids came up with the idea of tipping the earth over the balcony so it was a trip to the hardware store for Jules and we created an "earth slide". It worked a treat and we had the earth down in the garden in record time.
The weather has been glorious and I've been enjoying pretending I'm on holiday by sitting in my Egg chair sun baking on the balcony each morning drinking endless cups of tea. We were supposed to be in the Maldives now.
Here are a few pictures of other things that are keeping us busy during this Covid period. I've been loving having more time to cook and being able to count on everyone eating at the same time. Over the weekend I had a delicious lamb ragu for lunch with a cheeky glass (or perhaps 2!) of red.
Puzzles are getting a run although mainly by Jules and me. Tom gets bored after doing the edges.....
