Jules and Andrew had a lovely end of season award ceremony at Manly Yacht Club where they got presented with 3 awards!
3rd Winter Series, Division2; 2nd Club Championship - Division 2. Fastest Boat CC Div 2; 1st Twilight Series.
I have quite a few friends turning 50 this year and it was Sarah's turn in May. She had a lovely lunch down at Manly.
Sydney hosts the Vivid Festival every May which is when all sorts of light installations are set up around the City and there are various concerts, plays, markets etc. We went one beautiful Friday evening and saw Paul Kelly play live outside the Opera House. Tom came with us which was such a treat. Gone are the days of warm wine in plastic cups - it now comes in a can! Dangerous because it's easy to stick a spare in your pocket. I have to admit I can't remember a huge amount about the evening except for an overwhelming sensation of joy and well-being!
Ted ran across the road the other day and got hit by a car. Fortunately he wasn't hurt but he's turned even more agoraphobic since - it's a challenge to get him in and out of the car even when he knows it's at the start of his favourite walk.
Tess is at home more than the rest of us and if Ted is very good (and not too smelly) he's allowed to hang with her in her room.
One of the guys Tom teaches surfing with was working at Tom's favourite surf shop, Aloha, over the weekend and he suggested that Tom come in to buy a new board as his current one is beginning to take on water. There is a secret room with 2nd hand boards and Tom got taken in there to look around. He is very happy with his new board and immediately took it for a test surf.
We have all been looking forward to Top Gun: Maverick and I managed to persuade all the McEnnie kids plus appendages (Sasha: Hunter's girlfriend, Ash: Tom's girlfriend, Daniel: Tess' boyfriend) to join us. We went for dumplings beforehand and then took up a whole row in the cinema. It was so much fun and we all loved the film.
I've been glued to social media and the television watching the Platinum Jubilee celebrations this weekend. Absolutely amazing - the Brits truely know how to do a royal celebration. My favourite surprise was the skit the Queen did with Paddington Bear - I cry every time I watch it!
