Jules had a work conference in Singapore so I decided to join him and we went early to have the weekend so that we could finally meet Patrick and Linda's boys, Sebastian and Felix.
We arrived on Friday evening and found an amazing restaurant a stone's throw from our hotel. On Saturday we did a big walk in the morning around Marina Bay Sands. I'd forgotten how Singapore wakes late and parties late so it felt very empty wandering around and we couldn't find anywhere to have a coffee! We made up for the lack of coffee with the most astonishing Yum Cha in Chinatown. The restaurant was hidden up a flight of stairs and full of locals. We ordered way too much food and still ate all of it because it was so so good!
After a lie down to try and digest lunch we did a little bit of shopping on Orchard Road and then headed to Mal and Tahlia's for a couple of drinks. We were meant to have dinner with them but poor Mal had Covid and we were still full from lunch so we stuck to drinks and carrot sticks.
Jules had conference events day and night on Monday and Tuesday so Patrick roped me into Trick or Treating with the boys at their condo on Monday night. It was so much fun seeing their excitement and meeting their friends of every nationality under the sun - so cosmopolitan compared to where we live.
I was very fortunate to be upgraded to business class for the overnight flight home and I arrived back in Sydney on Wednesday morning fresh as a daisy. I am a huge convert to the digital nomad lifestyle and will be urging Jules to go on more business trips!
