Mate wanted

After months of frustration and pushing Tom along whilst we took Tess on bike rides, Tom finally learnt to pedal a bike in November.  He's been borrowing a little trike from one of his mates but for proper bike rides he just can't go far or fast enough so this weekend we bought him a big boy bike.  I would like to say that it was a huge success and I won't quite dismiss it yet but we took the two of them on a bike ride on this fantastic flat track, nothing too taxing, but unfortunately half way round there was a park and the moment they saw the park there were no more thoughts of bike riding!

It was my first week back at work which was great although a little hectic due to it being year end for Pearson.  Jules had the week off and generally swanned around enjoying the easy life because the kids were at kindy.  He did manage to disappear into the black hole that is Warringah Mall (our huge local shopping mall) for almost a whole day which is probably the most amount of time he's spent shopping during the past year - he came out quite shaken and had to have a lie down!

On Sunday afternoon we went round to our friends Angie, Liam and Oscar's for lunch/dinner.  The kids spent about 3 hours in the pool and once they were completely worn out we let them watch a movie whilst we had our food - it was all extremely civilised.  Angie and Liam are thinking of starting a reindeer farm in time for next christmas - so far they have one male reindeer and would be interested in hearing from anyone who might have a mate for him.
