Another week of beautiful weather and Jules is working overtime to keep the new turf moist in the hope that the grass might take. I'm not sure whether I mentioned previously that we had lighting put in the garden - 6 uplights for the trees - it looks fantastic but the gardeners put 500W bulbs in all the lights and when they're on you can see our garden from space! I went on a mission today to find dimmer light bulbs which Jules has just put in and we're waiting for it to get dark to judge the effect but I suspect it'll be much better.
We had John, Leanne, Julia and Michael (with respective children) round to dinner on Saturday night and we had a wonderful evening. The kids all played together beautifully and the conversation (and wine) flowed easily - the wine so easily that I've been battling a headache all day and it's only now with my first glass of wine that it's beginning to abate.
It was Father's day here in Australia today and Tess made a beautiful card for Jules at school in which she wrote:
Thank you for playing blind monster with me and Tom. I love you. I don't get to see you much because you went to the farm and I missed you.
We're wondering what her teacher must think because she's got an obsession at the moment with the thought that she doesn't get to see her Daddy very often!
The weather was so beautiful on Sunday that we toyed with the idea of going out on the boat (both kids really wanted to) but I had 52 loads of washing to do so we opted for the beach and had a lovely time playing on the rocks and building sandcastles.
