It's been one of those weekends where I look back at the photos I've taken and I can't believe all that has happened in one weekend!
On Friday morning Tess was a little bit "floppy" and the weather was amazing so I decided to give her a mental health day. I received an email from Leanne to tell me that Noah was getting a "MHD" too so I knew I was on the right track. We took Tom to swim class (his highlight of the week) and then headed down to Clontarf where Tess and Tom loved playing with Noah and Charlie's boogie boards. Once the kids got bored of the beach we came back to our place and Leanne made sushi for everyone - very impressive and she made it look so easy! Whilst I had Leanne at my house I enlisted her help in creating a new outdoor living area. For those of you who know the house you will see what a huge improvement this is on the area that was previously used for bikes and other kids detritus. Tess and I have not moved very far from the sofa since it was placed there and the kids and I had a lovely Sunday morning reading books and doing puzzles outside.
Jules spent Saturday racing on St Jude so the kids and I went down to Clontarf with Tess' friend Eleanor from school and her brother Ewan who will go to school at the same time as Tom. The kids all had a ball swimming and playing in the park and Kate and I managed a decent conversation and a cup of coffee - a success all round!!
On Sunday the Morgans came round and we took them out on the boat as it was pushing 30 degrees. We all had a wonderful time with Tess and Tamsin falling straight into their old friendship. Jules and I found it slightly disconcerting that the entire Morgan family were a significantly darker shade of brown than us and yet we're the ones that live here!! After a lovely day on the water we came back and had a barbecue - summer is well and truly with us in Australia.
