Rugby Pro

Tom insisted on doing a 2 day rugby course during the holidays.  We were a little worried about him because of his asthma so Tess and I dropped him off on Monday morning, went to get coffee and hot chocolate, and sneaked back to check he was ok.  There was no need for us to worry - he was running up and down the pitch kicking the ball (really quite well) and he looked so cute in his black and white rugby gear.  The course was obviously a good one because in Tom's game on Saturday he scored 3 tries!

We've had lots of friends round to play each day and I have played more games of Crazy Cash Monopoly and Rummikub than I care to remember.  One day was spent at the Powerhouse Museum where we visited the excellent Narnia exhibition.  Tess went ice-skating with her friend Sarah and loved it.  Tom has spent hours playing Star Wars Lego on the Playstation with his friend Jesse (and occasionally Tess).

Andrew is in town at the moment and he went sailing with Jules on Sunday whilst Tess and Marianne hung out together.  I persuaded Andrew to stay for dinner because he is always an appreciative guest and I had fun making lamb ragu and fresh pasta - we felt like an Italian family sitting down to our big bowls of pasta and robust red wine!

It's the final day of the holidays today so I've agreed that the kids can stay in their pyjamas all day if they want.  I think they've had a lovely time and so have I.
