It feels like summer

We've had a wonderful weekend here in Sydney - the sun has been shining a lot and the temperatures have been in the high 20s - this is after a week where I have worn jeans almost every day and began to worry that perhaps summer might never arrive.

Now that Oka is fixed and back on her mooring Jules was able to do his first twilight of the season and found himself sailing with a baby humpback whale who was frolicking around in the harbour.  I had my own twilight at home with the wives and kids of the crew - the kids spent most of the evening in the pool whilst the mums sipped (who am I kidding!) champagne.

Tom had t-ball on saturday morning.  The team have been messing around a bit recently so the manager read them the riot act and came up with 3 rules:
- Listen to your coaches;
- Watch the game even if you're off/waiting to bat;
- Have fun!
This was the first game where they followed the rules and it made a huge difference.  The boys clearly really enjoyed themselves and they all did a brilliant job which gave them a big boost.

In the afternoon the Rumbolds came round for dinner and a sleepover.  The kids were beside themselves with excitement because we haven't seen them in a long time so it was a very joyous reunion.

Stephen arrived on Sunday.  The kids were very happy to see him and even happier when Jules and him got in the pool and messed around with them for over an hour.  After so much entertaining we decided to go out for dinner on Sunday evening and ended up at Bench with the Mennies.  It's the perfect place as the kids scoot around until the food arrives, throw down a couple of burritos, and the disappear off scooting again until we're ready to leave.  I'm sitting here typing with all the windows and doors open almost deafened by the sounds of the crickets and frogs.  I love summer.
