Another exhausting week. On Monday the Senior Dance Group performed at the NSW Public Schools State Dance Festival at the Seymour Centre. I found this auspiciously titled champagne at the bar so had to have a glass!
Tess decided to join Tom's weekly surf lesson and despite some choppy conditions she cut a fine figure. Tom was given a really tiny fibreglass to surf on which he struggled with and in typical Tom fashion he spent most of the lesson blaming Matt his surf instructor.
Tom had a brilliant play with his friend Callum which involved one of his favourite things - mud!
Touch rugby started on Friday. It was an ok start for the boys with Tom's team winning 5-3 but Tess' team lost 15-0. In their defence it's the first time the girls in Tess' team have played touch so they've got a bit to learn and the team they played had some incredibly fit and fast runners so we also need to work on their physical fitness. Fortunately none of them were too fazed by the loss and simply enjoyed a good run around.
It was election day on Saturday and I spent 6 hours up at school manning the second hand book stall. It was actually very sociable with all the locals up there so I can't really complain. Tony Abbott won so we're back to a Liberal government.
Sunday was again devoted to netball and rugby with Tess' netball team having a fun day down at Clontarf before going to a presentation afternoon where Tess' team received another trophy for winning the Grand Final. Tom also had a presentation at the rugby club and received a trophy that he is very proud of. Down at Clontarf the girls did an egg & spoon race which was a lot of fun. Tess tried to keep her winning egg and was devastated when it got accidentally crushed.
We're hoping for a quiet weekend at some stage but can't see one happening any time soon....
