Friday afternoon Tom's touch footy team played in the Grand Final and won by a convincing 9-3. After that excitement we had Tom's guitar concert where he played The Days by Avicii and Jailbreak by ACDC. He's showing a penchant for ACDC!

On Saturday we watched Tess' end of year drama performance in which she played the captain of a spaceship. The performance clashed with the end of year tennis party at which she was awarded most improved player - you can imagine how proud I was!
With all the excitement we had a quiet evening on Saturday and went to see the Paddington movie which we all loved.
On Sunday afternoon we went to Tess' piano concert - she played two pieces on her own and the 2 of us then did a duet of Hark the Herald Angels Sing. Tess' piano teacher is English and her end of year concert is one of the highlights of Christmas for us as it's the most christmassy we feel outside of going to church.
Wendy has a hotline to Santa who comes each year to the concert!
After the concert we went round to the Christensens and I took my gingerbread house for the kids - always a highlight with them. Last weekend Tom had his first nippers carnival and I had my first officiating at a carnival (Jules and I both did a course so that we can help out). The surf was huge so sadly the water events got cancelled but he did brilliantly in the flags coming 4th.
Tom on the right
We bumped into Michael Hooper, captain of the Wallabies, down in Manly and Tom was very quick to get his photo taken with him. And leaving the best bit of news for last - Tess got chosen as one of the 12 school leaders for next year her last year at Primary School. All the candidates, and there were 39 girls vying for 7 places, had to give a 2 minute speech on being a leader and then the teachers and Years 3-5 students voted for who they thought would be best. Tess found the process quite stressful because she said that she's wanted to be a school leader since she was in kindergarten so it was such a relief that she was successful. I know I'm biased but I reckon she'll make an excellent leader!
