It's time for the big reveal. We are so close as to have practically finished the renovation bar a few minor items. An anticipated 9 month renovation turned into a 12 month one and cost almost 50% more than we had budgeted for. Some of those costs were our fault but some were simply due to items that we had to fix given the age of the house (for example removing all the asbestos!) and that it made sense to fix given we had easy access. We still have an excellent relationship with our builder who has been fantastic in terms of the quality of his work and the value of his suggestions during the project. We love the finished product and are looking forward to a Christmas Staycation at home.
