Another wet weekend

We've had some pretty heavy rain the past couple of weeks and I'm glad to say that the house does not leak.  On the flip side one of our retaining walls has rather a large crack in it which suggests the ground has moved so we have some expensive underpinning to do.  Below is the image that stuck in my mind and shows how strong the seas have been.  This was taken just up the road at Collaroy.

Spot the lovely swimming pool now wallowing in the sea

Tess' basketball team had their last match of the season and finished with a win.  I found the beginning of the season quite frustrating with Tess displaying lovely netball skills but not being brave enough to move with the ball or to try shooting.  That all changed in the last 2 sessions so it's almost a shame that she's going back to netball next term.

Jules and Andrew had the mast taken out of Oka in order to do some repairs.  It was pouring with rain but Tom insisted on going down to the marina with them dressed in his wetsuit and with a plastic bag to catch fish.

We weren't allowed to take any photos but Tom starred in a world premier of an opera on Saturday.  The Selfish Giant was written by a music teacher at his school and Tom was very excited to be performing on stage with a real life opera singer!  It was very enjoyable but I felt the teacher was brave to write an opera and have it murdered performed solely (with the exception of the opera singer) by children aged 7 to 11.
