Netball returns

At Queenwood the girls can choose to do a different sport each term.  Whilst this means they only get approximately 8 games of their chosen sport which some argue is not enough time for a team to develop I think it's fantastic as they get to try a wider variety of sports.  Tess really enjoyed trying out basketball and will do it again next year but she was very happy to get back to netball as she's missed it.

A lot of the girls from her basketball team are also in her netball team and they all get along famously.  For me it was interesting to watch, for possibly the first time ever, a netball game where there isn't one girl trying to win the game for the entire team.  All the girls had their positions, stayed in their positions and trusted each other to do the same.
The bib was much too big for her

An action shot from Tess - she'd just done a great tip

We had a last minute impromptu dinner party for the Christensens, Rivers and Watts on Saturday night.  Due to the number of us we sat outside with the radiant heaters on and no-one was cold - they really have been a great buy.  I've been heavily influenced by Masterchef - we watch it religiously in this house - and I tried to push the boat out a little not only with the food but with it's plating too.  Sadly I didn't think to take any pictures but everyone claimed it was delicious (would they say anything else!).

I've been back at work this week which is a struggle with kids activities etc but they always rise to the occasion and I think they enjoy the extra freedom and responsibility.

On Sunday evening we all headed to water polo which is now going to become a regular Sunday night feature - bye bye relaxing Sunday evenings!  Tom played last term but Tess hasn't played since Term 1 and she enjoyed getting back in the water.
