Tess and friends

Tess is being particularly delightful at the moment: she's survived 2 terms at her new school, her semester report was brilliant and she's made some really lovely friends.  I think that's allowing her to relax a bit more and enjoy herself knowing that she's doing ok.  This term she's started doing yoga once a week which she loves and she has just started a Learn to Row program.  We've been told for years that she needs to row because of her build and long arms but she was always very anti-rowing because she equates it to early mornings which are definitely not her thing.  Queenwood has an amazing rowing program and this year an old girl is representing Australia at the Rio Olympics.  Tess got told in her first lesson that if she commits to rowing she could end up like that old girl - what a motivator! - not surprisingly she was very upbeat after that comment but we'll see how it goes - rowing when it's cold and wet might not be so appealing.

Stephen was over from the UK for the weekend and we had a lovely evening out on Saturday at Hugo's in Manly.  The kids stayed home alone and made up a new game which involved sliding down the stairs.  They played it again the following day.  I love the fact that Tess is not too old to enjoy games like that.

Jules and Stephen went sailing with Deb and Andrew on Sunday - always a good way for a UK guest to spend the day!
