Australia Day

We spent Australia Day at Forty Baskets Beach.  There was a large group of us and we had flags, prawns, lamingtons, lamb chops and vegemite sandwiches to celebrate the big day.  The kids once again swam out to our boat and spent about an hour on her chatting away to each other.  Tess is convinced she stood on a Port Jackson shark and has a mark on her toe to prove it!

Tom had Nipper Nats on Friday down at Manly.  I dropped him down early for the warm up and came back just as the carnival was about to start to find everyone on the beach staring out to see with a group of IRBs touring up and down looking for a shark.  The carnival started about 20 minutes late and I'm glad to say that no further sharks were spotted.
You can just see the row of IRBs in the distance - the water looks "sharky"!

After the carnival and to make the most of Tess' haircut we went to Jellyfish for dinner.

Jules, Tom and I spent most of Saturday down at Manly helping out with the Senior Surf Carnival.  Jules was on first aid duty in his capacity as surf lifesaver and I was on bbq duty with Tom as my sidekick.  Tess escaped by scoring an invitation to spend the day on her friends boat.

More nippers at Manly on Sunday morning followed by a surf.  Tess is back to school tomorrow and Tom on Tuesday.
