Heatwave

We've had the most extraordinary summer this year with temperatures consistently in the late 30s.  Even though it's hard to cool down I love it and don't want it to end.

Friday saw the start of Friday night water polo comp for Tess and Tom.  They both had 8.25pm games so it was a late and hot evening - I think pool side was probably the best place to be.

Tom had his friend Will
On Saturday Tom entered his first surfing competition with Queenscliff Boardriders.  He was very very nervous and finding all sorts of excuses on Friday and Saturday morning for why he shouldn't go but of course he loved it and has now asked to do as many comps as he can.  He came 4th in his age group which he was a bit disappointed with but it's given him something to work on.

Tom had his last nippers carnival for the season up at Newport on Sunday morning.  The extra swimming that he's been doing is beginning to pay off and he came 12th overall in the Ironman which is a great result for him.  It was a boiling hot day (again!) so Tess and I went to see LaLa Land at the cinema.  It was a fun movie but neither of us completely understand all the hype surrounding the film.

We had dinner at Manly Wine on Sunday evening to celebrate the end of another busy weekend.

Ted has been struggling with the heat but he likes crunching on ice cubes to keep himself cool.
