Another swimming carnival, another ribbon haul

Due to Tom's success at his school swimming carnival he made it through to the next level of swimming carnival which involves competing against other schools at the Olympic pool at Homebush.  He competed in the 50m breaststroke and the 50m boys freestyle relay coming 2nd and 1st respectively.  This then led to another swimming carnival against even more schools for the boys relay team in which they came 8th.  I think that's it for swimming carnivals this year so they can now get on with some school work!  

We've had a long run of incredibly wet weather which has led to much grumbling by everyone.  The bamboo is growing out of control, the pool is almost entirely fresh water and most of my tennis games have been cancelled - not happy.  So it was with some relief that the sun made a much needed appearance this weekend.  Tom had Long Reef Boardriders surf competition on Saturday and did really well coming 1st in his heat and 3rd in the final.  He was quick to point out that the 2 boys who came ahead of him in the final are both sponsored by surf companies so they are really very good.  I was equally quick to point out that he was very lucky with the draw as the other strong boys came up against the number 1 and 2 in the first heat and thus got knocked out.

Sunday was a proper autumn day so we spent it down at Manly with Tom's friend Thomaz.  They had a fabulous time surfing/boogie boarding and Ted had a lovely time being adored by the general public.  Tess went to see Beauty & The Beast at the cinema - no enjoying the beautiful sunshine for her (insert eye roll emoji!).
