Boat cleaning

Blog posts have been a bit thin on the ground because I've just picked up a piece of work which is keeping me busy.  I'm not sure that I want to be working at the moment and of course I am suffering from huge confidence issues which is persuading me that I'm doing a really bad job which leads me to not wanting a job......you see the cycle!  The company I'm working for is very interesting - the owner is 31 years old and incredibly bright and dynamic - so I need to sort my head out and buckle down.  I keep repeating to myself something I heard on the radio the other day - "you don't grow inside your comfort zone".  I'm growing.........!

Now that Oka is no longer on a soft sand her bottom gets "dirty" which slows her down.  Jules decided that she needed to be cleaned up before the final race of the winter series so he roped in our resident seal (Tom) and a sailing mate who has 2 very clever contraptions: the first is some kind of set up that involves a rubber tube and allows you to breathe underwater (beautifully explained I know!) and the other is some suction pads that allow you to stick yourself to the underside of the boat and hold yourself in place whilst you scrub.  Both Jules and Tom were a little bit worried about men in grey suits but they emerged from the process unscathed!

The Rumbolds stayed with us over the weekend.  I set the kids up with a lovely dinner for the 4 of them at home and we left them playing some fierce rounds of table tennis as the grown ups headed out to Hugo's.  It was a beautiful evening and we were able to sit on the waters edge in short sleeves - such a treat.

Tom had his Athletics Carnival and because of work I only turned up to the last 30 minutes.  During that 30 minutes I watched him run and come 2nd in the 200m - the only ribbon he received all day!  I was a little concerned to notice the odd shoes but he explained that he'd swapped with a friend because they thought it would be fun.  Boys!
