Tom was meant to be at nipper camp Wednesday to Friday but he has been in the sun so much recently and despite being very careful with his face and body he completely forgot to keep reapplying sunblock to his lips. They got so cracked and blistered that the poor boy couldn't eat without them bleeding. On top of that he got conjunctivitis so was seriously in the wars and we decided that a week out of the water would do him good. He went a little bit crazy from lack of exercise but at least he's relaxed a little bit these holidays and I did put him to work one morning cleaning the car.
Despite a very hot and humid day on Saturday we decided to do the walk from Clontarf to Manly. We were very grateful for a cooling dip at Reef beach and even more grateful for some iced water once we arrived in Manly. Tess made it half of the way but she has a hugely infected finger which was throbbing and causing her a lot of pain so she quite reasonably headed home.
I had a fabulous night out on Saturday with the girls although I may have drunk one too many espresso martinis.

It was seriously windy on Sunday and quite cold (around 20C). Tom had a water polo game at an outdoor pool in Drummoyne. The team shooting in the goal on the left had a serious advantage as a small throw resulted in the ball being carried almost the entire length of the pool. The storm clouds looked very threatening but we got away with a light sprinkle.
