Lenka's birthday festival

My birthday turned into a bit of a festival lasting a week which was fabulous.  On my actual birthday I played some tennis, sat on the sofa and read my book during the afternoon (completely unheard of!!!), ate cake for afternoon tea and went out to a nice pizza place in Manly for dinner with Jules and the kids.  The kids know that all I ever want for my birthday is a homemade card and they did not disappoint!  

In my speech bubble above I'm saying "sorry what did you say darling I'm listening to a podcast" which is a bit of a joke around here because I love them and listen to them all the time! 

On Thursday I headed into the City to catch up with Andy Roberts and Steph Williams who I used to work with at KPMG back in 2001.  It was incredible to see them both and it was as if we'd seen each other the week before - none of us had changed (except perhaps a few grey hairs for myself and Andy!).  Now that we know we all live in the same City we will try and catch up more often.

Kara hosted kitchen bench drinks on Friday to celebrate my birthday and clever Cath bought a delicious cake and decorated it beautifully.  I was responsible for cutting the cake which caused much hilarity because I clearly have no idea of portion size.  The lemon in the picture is normal sized! 

Tom had his monthly QBC surfing competition on Saturday and emerged the victor in a very exciting final.

Jules and I went out with Craig and Lisa on Saturday night to celebrate our birthdays - sadly I forgot to take any photos but we had a lovely evening at Garfish with possibly a tad too much wine.  

The clocks changed on Sunday and we had Tom's end of term guitar concert where he played Wish you were here by Pink Floyd.
