Nationals Water Polo and Australia Day

Tom and I spent a week in Brisbane for the Australia Youth Water Polo Championships.  I was up there as chaperone and chef which I had done the year before.  It's an exhausting week feeding 17 people five times a day (breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner) but I love cooking for a captive audience and the boys are an amazing bunch who get on remarkably well.  Tom's team were playing in the U16s age group although all of them are only 14 so we didn't expect them to do terribly well.  The ended up coming 21 out of 32 which was a valiant effort.  It was lovely watching how their confidence and skills increased during the week.

We got back from Brisbane and I had some of the girls round for dinner on the Friday night whilst Jules and Andrew did the twilight race.

We've just had the Australia Day Long Weekend which is the last hurrah before everyone goes back to work/school and normal life resumes.  We were invited to a party at the Still's with dress code "a touch of Aus".
