Titanium Tom

The plate!

His first attempt on the crutches

Tom had his surgery at North Shore Private Hospital on Monday and it all went well.  The doctor called him "fixed"!!  He stayed in hospital for 2 days and will now be on crutches for 6 weeks.  He's lucky that he has got prior experience with crutches so he's finding getting around quite easy.  We've set him up in the guest room upstairs with the Xbox and he is one very happy camper.  He might never move back down to his room...  The house has been full of his friends keeping him company which is lovely and I've been busy baking to feed all those teenagers.

On Saturday evening we had Bella's 50th birthday celebration.  It was so lovely to catch up with everyone but particularly the Duthie's who we haven't seen in ages.  Our evening was brought to a very abrupt halt when we got a call from Tess who had been at a friends house but had come out in a very odd rash all over her face and torso.  The call from Tess was quickly followed by a call from the mother who was clearly freaking out in case Tess was having an anaphylactic reaction.  We jumped in an Uber and got home to find Tess at home in tears from shock but no pain of any description.  The rash was really hot to touch so she and Jules took Ted out for a walk to help her cool down.  She was completely back to normal in the morning.  The girls had had a little bit to drink so we're wondering whether it's rosacea which Jules occasionally suffers from.

On Sunday Tom had his last job as Nipper Club Captain making a video of the awards for the season which will be posted on Facebook as we can't have an award ceremony.  It was his first time out of the house and it was a glorious morning down at Manly.  I promise he had more fun than his face would suggest!
