On Friday we farewelled Barney with a beautiful ceremony, held at St Augustine's, which captured his spirit perfectly. Duncan gave the most incredible Eulogy - I do not know how he found the courage to speak so eloquently. Bella, Arthur, Tenzin and Iona gave loving tributes. It was heartbreakingly sad but a wonderful goodbye.
After the service we drove the Wakes-Millers, Dasha (Barney's girlfriend) and her father to the crematorium where we had a couple of hours with Barney. The St Augustine's boys formed a Guard of Honour lining the streets around the school which we drove through in the pouring rain. It was an incredibly moving moment. At the crematorium we had a peaceful time as we stood around the coffin, listened to music, told stories and remembered.
Barney - you will be forever in our thoughts and our hearts.
