Tom, Harry, Tia and Nina are doing their Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award and we have signed them up for a kayaking journey instead of a hike given they are all such water babies. They had their practice kayaking session which was 2 days and 1 night up at Myall Lakes. They had a ball even though the boys tent leaked and it rained a fair bit overnight! They've picked up lots of tips for the actual "Adventurous Journey" next week.
We had a fabulous evening at the Christensen's on Saturday night. A local lady has started a cocktail making business and we felt it important to support such a great local initiative so we tried the Cosmopolitans which were delicious. They gave us lots of energy and we spent the entire evening dancing which luckily meant no headaches the following morning!
Jules and Andrew had a spinnaker race on Sunday and given it was a beautiful day with a light breeze, and I didn't have a headache, I thought it would be fun to join them. The conditions really were gorgeous and we ended up coming 6th on handicap which I think is quite good. I really enjoyed it although I'm a little bruised from throwing myself over the top of the boat every time we tacked. I said to Kate we possibly needed an extra 10ft to be really comfortable!
We got home to find Tess and her friends making and decorating Gingerbread Cookies. Very festive!
