Mini lockdown

We have been put back into a mini lockdown which basically means we need to wear masks when shopping and on public transport. Ironically we were still allowed to go out for drinks with the Year 12 parents from Tess' school on Friday night but we weren't allowed to watch our girls play basketball with the same parents the following morning!

Tom on a wave

The weather was beautiful on Saturday morning so we headed down to Manly to watch Tom compete in QBC. The waves were beautiful and he scored really well on his first wave but just needed to stand up one more time to get through to the next round. What it made him realise was that he needed a new board so it was off to Aloha Surf to see what he could find. He's had his old board for over a year and he's now nearly 6ft tall and weighs 70kg - his board is simply too small. He found a great second hand one and went out for a surf with Harry in the afternoon and apparently he was "carving it up" which I think means he was happy with his purchase.

Sunday was Mother's Day. The kids made/bought me some lovely cards, Jules got me flowers and I bought myself a cashmere scarf - all in all very successful!
