We've had a fantastic weekend up at the farm with the Rumbolds. It's the first time they've been up there and, as we suspected, they loved it. Tom, Noah and Charlie had an amazing time what with bikes to ride, mice to get rid of and wood to chop. My lasting memory of the weekend will be the amount of laughter - it was fantastic for the soul.
Tess stayed at home because she had a close friend's 18th. Sadly, she's always happiest when we're not here but at least the house was still in one piece when we got back!
The boys chopped down a tree, dragged it near to the farm using the Cruiser and then spent the afternoon chopping it into fire sized pieces. They foolishly used the chainsaw without supervision thinking we wouldn't find out...The boys found a dead kangaroo in the hay shed. Luckily it was quite fresh and hadn't done too much damage in there. Tom and Noah refused to touch it but Charlie was a legend and dragged it out for us.
Wood chopping - it was 7 degrees but you need to take your shirt off if you've been working out!
The advantage of Tess staying at home was we could leave Ted. He doesn't particularly like the farm and he makes the clean up much harder with all his fur! The poor boy is feeling very neglected these days as I don't have much time to walk him now that I'm working and sadly the family haven't picked up the slack...
