Tess turns 18!!!

What a fabulous weekend we've had celebrating Tess' birthday. We started with a family dinner on Thursday night complete with champagne, cake and silly games. She woke on her birthday to find the house decorated and lots of lovely presents to open. During the day there was a constant stream of people through the door bringing her flowers and more presents. In the evening we had a few people round (illegally as we are still in lockdown) for cocktails, pizza, speeches and a beautiful song written by Tom which had everyone in tears. Jules and I were persuaded to do shots of Fireball (revolting cinnamon flavoured whisky) and then there was dancing. Jules and I were in bed by about 9.30 but the young ones kicked on.

Our baby girl is all grown up and she is an absolute delight!

On Saturday we had a lovely picnic lunch planned for Trudie's birthday party. We arrived at 40 Baskets with chairs, tables, tablecloths, napkins, champagne, cocktail and water glasses etc etc. However, the weather was not in our favour and as a large southerly started blowing it got more and more unpleasant until we pulled the pin and headed back to our house again illegally but we decided we're all double vaxxed with every member of our households having had at least one vaccination. Interestingly we wouldn't have dreamed of doing anything that illegal 2 weeks ago - it just goes to show the impact of being vaccinated coupled with lockdown fatigue.
