Back to school

Tom had his first full week of school - a bit of a shock but he survived. In our current Covid environment Australia has introduced twice weekly Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) for all school students. Tom's were both negative this week but the school reported that the testing had identified 36 students with Covid who were completely asymptomatic so the system clearly works!

Tom got called in last minute to help with some surf lessons on Saturday. The conditions were tough and he and the other instructor had to manage about 12 kids between them. Tom is the one in the red rashie on the right of the group.

After a tiring couple of hours of work he did a quick turn around and headed off to a "gatho".

This bag goes everywhere with him - don't ask what it holds!

It has been windy and Jules had 2 excellent sailing races this weekend. The twilight on Friday night where they came first which has consolidated their position in that series. They had a bit of drama when they attempted to turn on the engine at the end of the race to motor back to their mooring and the key broke clean in the lock. With the wind there was no chance of sailing onto the mooring so Kia spent the night on a police mooring which was more accessible. Jules and Andrew headed back to the boat early Saturday morning armed with a vast array of tools to extract the key and fortunately managed it. Another fantastic race on Sunday afternoon where they came first over the line but due to their handicap (ridiculous) ended up coming third.
