The finished product

So I can hold off no longer from posting photos of the new kitchen and I've included 2 befores and afters.  I'm afraid they don't really do the kitchen justice but I was always going to say that!  Now that Rae is here we've done a fair amount of entertaining and the kitchen is doing it's job fantastically well.  It really has become the hub that I always wanted it to be.  In fact our challenge is to actually sit on the sofas which Rae and I have only managed once for a brief moment in between taking the kids to various activities.

We had Lisa and Craig round to dinner on Friday night and after the fifth bottle of wine we started talking about how nice it would be to use the farm more spontaneously.  If we hadn't all drunk too much wine we would have left there and then but as it happened we managed to hold off until the morning and raced up to the farm for the weekend.  It had rained up there quite a lot and the creek bed that we had walked along 2 weeks ago was actually full of running water which the children had a ball playing in.  It was a brief visit but fantastic and so good to be able to show it to Rae.

Tess had her first school orientation day last week which Jules and Rae took her to.  Apparently she showed a few nerves to start with but got easily distracted by some wall art and ended up having a lovely time - having her friend Olivia in the same class helped.  I am taking her next week and we will buy her school uniform which is very exciting.  I can't believe she will soon be a school girl!!
