The Queen's Birthday

Well thanks to the Queen we have had a long weekend with a public holiday today.  Finally it has stopped raining and the usual sunny winter Sydney has returned.  After a busy week at work for both of us Lenka took the kids to a school disco at Middle Harbour Yacht Club.  It wasn't entirely successful, apparently the DJ was average and Tom kept trying to escape by commando crawling towards the door to get onto the beach.

We took advantage of the sun on Saturday to take Tom and Tess bike riding and then our friends Mark and Caroline with their daughter Ruby and 15 month old twins Iris and Herbie came over for dinner.   The twins are now walking and Mark and Caroline have their hands full!   Tess had Olivia over for a sleep-over and Tom had Hunter round to play with so we had a house full which was nice.

On Sunday after a swim at the local swim centre we took the kids to the park and then Ken and Emma (with James and Olivia) came round for dinner.  Too many bottles of red were consumed so it has been a quiet day today with lots of lazing around.  The kids are both exhausted after a solid 3 days of playing so early nights all round.  Note I have been tasked with the blog this week - not sure if I will be sacked or not - hard to match Lenka's high standards!

Note another self-portrait by Tess which shows her toothy gap to perfection!
