I've mentioned before that I'm not planning on winning any prizes for my parenting this year. On Saturday Jules was sailing and I had my two and Hunter. We'd been to the park, fought alot, had lunch and done some more fighting when I decided I had had enough and put them to work cleaning my car. This clearly had to be done naked regardless of the temperature (about 18C) and I'm not convinced that the car was any cleaner afterwards but it did stop the fighting for about 45 mins! About 15 mins later the fighting started again so this time Craig and I decided to take them to Tania Park with their ride-ons so that they could try and kill themselves racing down an incredibly steep hill. The on-lookers were clearly divided into 2 camps - those who felt we were extremely irresponsible allowing such a dangerous activity and those who wished they were still young enough to have a go themselves! Fletcher, at 2 and a half, was by the far the most impressive throwing himself down the hill and (almost!) never coming a cropper. By the time I took the video we had stopped them starting from right at the very top of the hill because of the uneven ground so it actually looks quite tame.
Jules' long awaited dry suit arrived on Friday and he came home specially early to try it on. It's been quite a saga having been ordered from the US but stopped by Customs with them making us pay extortionate duty. Jules wore it for his sailing on Saturday and I believe everyone else on the boat is now going to get one too - he should get commission!
Tess was ill at the beginning of the week with tonsillitis. It was month end for me at work so I had no choice but to knuckle down regardless of being at home. Tess was amazing and made cakes, swept the floor, read books, played computer games - it was actually incredibly enjoyable and I was sad to go back to the office on Wednesday.
Work on our garden is progressing at an impressive rate and it should be finished in another 2 weeks. The kids spent a very happy hour playing in the mud this afternoon - who needs grass and landscaping?!

O my god! So much goodness in this blogpost!
1) of course - naked car washing, I understand completely.
2) I LOVE Jules' dry suit and think I need one for going walking in the rain. Perhaps he'll let me have a go?
3) Next time, please invite us to go riding down that hill with you.
