Lenka heads off to the Gold Coast

A funny short week for all of us after the long Australia Day weekend at Coolendel. Both Lenka and I had a very busy 3 days back at work and were feeling in need of another weekend by the time Thursday night came around. Saturday saw Tom and I catch up on car chores (tyre repairs, car washes blah blah) whilst Lenka, Tess and Mum went shopping for various things. Lenka popped round to see Lisa, Craig, Fletcher, Hunter and of course the new addition to their family, Darcy. Sounds like the Mennies are all very well and enjoying their big week of having Hunter start school and Darcy arriving - congratulations guys! Meantime Tess headed off to a party and so Mum, Tom and I hit Clontarf beach for a bit of swimming and diving - the water temp is around 22c and it was lovely to swim around and chill out in the afternoon sun.

Sunday dawned and Lenka had to head off to fly up to her conference in Brisbane first thing. Mum and I took the kids to the Powerhouse Museum in central Sydney. A great, quite strange, mixed up museum full of very different exhibitions from designer things to a remember 80's exhibition to kids to space to old arcade games !!! The kids loved tearing around and it thoroughly wore us oldies out. In need of sustenance after 3 hours in the museum we walked across to Chinatown and had Yum Cha at one of the many restaurants around the place. After leaving a trail of restaurant tablecloth destruction we headed home for a big swim, bbq and early night for the kids - got to go now as Australian Open mens tennis final about to start. Fingers crossed for the grumpy Scot! Tomorrow is Lenka's band's big night so if you have a chance send her a text good luck - sure we can get some photos up next week of Lenka, her wig and the band in action.

ps sorry no photos this week as I'm sure you know my IT capabilities are limited to turning a computer on (I am only slightly ahead of my father in law in this respect) - back to the expert next week....
