It's all over and I've hung up my rock star boots. The "big" night was on Monday and it all went fantastically well. The company was up at Surfers Paradise for the annual sales conference, we'd had a full day of lectures, workshops and group activities and in the evening everyone had gone down to the hotel lobby for transport to the gala dinner venue to find out that they were being taken there on the back of Harleys. We had 20 Harleys taking people in pillion to the Hard Rock Cafe where we were performing. By the time our colleagues had arrived they were totally hyped from having been on the motorbikes and so they didn't think much of the introduction to the band. We ran onto the stage and started playing and nobody paid that much attention. Half way through the first song (All I Wanna Do) people started noticing the tv screens around the cafe which were showing close up pictures of the band and people started coming to the front of the stage to take a closer look. At the end of the second song our CEO introduced everyone from the band but still people didn't get it and the following morning I had colleagues of mine ask where I'd been the night before and what had I been wearing!!
