It was a very exciting week for us because on Thursday evening Robert and Claire arrived in Sydney to start a 2 year secondment.
Friday morning and the weather was glorious so after a few chores we went down to Clontarf for lunch and a swim. Tom was beside himself to have not 1 but 2 people to go in the sea with him! In the late afternoon Jules came home from work and took Robert and Claire out for the first twilight sail of the season - it was quite windy and Claire who has limited sailing experience absolutely loved it - welcome to Sydney!
Saturday dawned after not a bad nights sleep for Robert and Claire so with more beautiful weather we headed out on the speed boat to the fish markets for lunch followed by a swim at Castle Rock (note the photo of the kids fast asleep on top of each other as we race down the harbour at top speed!). Just as we arrived back at the boat ramp the heavens opened and it really hasn't stopped raining since.
Nippers was cancelled on Sydney morning which Claire was particularly disappointed about as she was all kitted out for some serious boogie boarding with Tom's board and my wetsuit! Instead we had a lazy morning - the big boys and the kids playing MicroMachines on the Playstation whilst Claire and I headed to the greengrocers because we'd seen an advert for trays of mangos for $20 and we've discovered that we have at least 5 mango addicts in the house at the moment! We decided that despite the rain we had to introduce Claire to Manly so we headed down at lunch time, had dim sum at Manly Phoenix and then went for a very short walk along Manly beachfront. In the afternoon we played Junior Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, more MicroMachines and, of course, the obligatory SingStar. As I type I can hear Jules and Robert battling it out on MicroMachines (Robert has an annoying habit of winning!!). What a perfect weekend!
