Weekend at our holiday house

The weather has done a complete turnabout and from temperatures of 18 degrees we've gone straight into continuous low 30's which is much more reasonable. The kids and I got home from kindy/school/work on Thursday evening and the 2 of them jumped straight in the pool. Julia and the kids came and spent Friday afternoon with us whilst the boys sailed so there was more swimming for everyone and a very fast sail for the boys with some strong winds.

On Saturday we packed up the speedboat and headed over to Scotland Island to spend the weekend with John and Leanne at their new house. It was a pretty perfect weekend with amazing weather, fantastic company and lots of fun. On Saturday we took bbq things and headed to The Basin for the afternoon where we bumped into the Wakes-Millers. The kids swam in the lagoon and we sat chatting on the beach (the photo of Tess and Charlie is taken at the lagoon). In the evening the kids, Leanne and I did some SingStar whilst preparing dinner and we then had a lovely meal on John and Leanne's top deck (they have several) with stunning views over Pittwater.

By 9am on Sunday we were on the water heading out for the day - first stop Church Point for coffee and then suitably fortified we cruised around all the bays admiring the million dollar houses and deciding which we'd like to live in! We particularly liked the alternative blue house boat complete with bra hanging out the front to dry! We found a lovely spot to drop anchor and the kids swam to shore and explored whilst we got stuck into the bottle of wine I had thrown in last minute. When we saw the ice cream boat arrive John waded out because the water we were anchored in was too shallow for it to approach us. As I sit here typing I am still gently rocking as if I was still back on the boat!
