The many faces of Tom........

Tess making more "anti-boy" signs for her bedroom door - I envy her her self-esteem!
It's been a full on party weekend with Tess at a party on Friday afternoon, Tom at a party Saturday morning and both of them at a party on Saturday afternoon!  By the Saturday afternoon one they were both exhausted and when we got home I discovered that Tess was running a very high temperature.  We had a quiet evening which was much appreciated by all.

On Friday night we went round to Kate and Andrew's house for curry after the twilight and the kids ended up getting to bed quite late.  Whilst Eleanor and Tess were at their party, Ewan, Tom, Super Tom and Harry (mates from soccer and school) all played together in the backyard and it was so lovely to see Tom enjoying playing with his new friends.  Tom continues to get on ok at school but I still don't think he's quite got the Japanese/Spanish difference.  The kids and I did some origami before school one morning and Tess decided to take hers in to show "Sensei" (teacher in Japanese) to which Tom said "What, do you mean the Spanish girl?"!!!!

The party on Saturday afternoon was the most expensive party I've ever been to because whilst I was there Jules managed to buy himself a brand new Land Rover Discovery 4.  He sent me various texts during the course of the party and once he'd struck a deal he sent the father of the party a text saying "my wife might be in need of a very stiff drink"!

Tess had her first netball development day on Sunday.  She's in a very serious team being coached by an ex-Olympian with 2 hours of training on a Wednesday afternoon starting in a few weeks.  Unfortunately, her temperature continued to rage so although we made it down there she didn't last very long and we gave up and came home.  She looks so gorgeous in her netball uniform with her lovely long legs but we'll have to wait for a photo opportunity when she's feeling a bit better.

Oh the netball sounds scary but fun for Tess! I love how their legs are so long and coltish at that age.
