18 degrees....

....is how cold the sea is at the moment and I went in on both Saturday and Sunday without a wetsuit!  Tom is so clearly obsessed with surfing and the sea that I've had to pull myself together so that I can go in with him and keep him safe.  

We made our annual contribution to Surf Life Saving Australia by signing Tom up for nippers.  We're moving to the Manly club because Jules knows a few people from work who are members and one of Tom's friends from school is doing nippers there too.  We tried to persuade Tess to sign up but she wouldn't have a bar of it!  


Despite the high temperatures we've had this weekend Jules hired a sander on Saturday and stripped the top deck.  It was hot and very dusty work but we both think it will look much better once finished.  

It was the start of Tess' birthday "season" this weekend with the WMs coming round for dinner on Saturday night to celebrate.  Aunty Bels was a complete legend and bought her the digital watch that she has been asking for and also gave her a voucher to Smiggle (a stationary shop) that we had to go and spend first thing on Sunday.
