Spiders and Eggs

Tess had a "blow test" for the Junior Band this week and has been told she could play either clarinet or trumpet.  She has chosen the clarinet so it's full steam ahead finding a clarinet and a teacher - I'm very excited!

Fiona is over from the UK at the moment and Jules took her and Dunc out for the twilight whilst the kids played in the pool and then got stuck into SingStar (with a little help from me and Bels!).  A couple of weeks ago Bels made the mistake of asking Tom what he wanted for his birthday.  Lesser people would have given up at the request for a remote control spider but Bels took on the challenge and won finding an amazing red back spider that is not only remote control but also works on walls and the ceiling!!!

On Saturday morning we found a huge huntsman in the kids bathroom.  Jules suggested chasing it round the house with the remote control spider but we persuaded him that it would be kinder to relocate it manually.

The kids think that Dunc and Bels live on a farm as they have dogs, chickens, rabbits, ducks and quails.  We were very lucky to be given lots of chicken and quails eggs on Friday.  The kids had never had quails eggs before and both loved them - expensive tastes!

Jules headed off to NZ for work on Sunday morning so the kids and I did a quick trip to Ikea followed by some games and a scooter for the kids/run for me around Tania Park - the perfect end to a lovely weekend.

What about cooking a spider sac and feeding that to the kids?
