Another "friend"

During the week I was heading into the back yard to hang up some washing when I looked up and saw this:

I crept round to the other side of the beam and this is who I found:
Jules hates the possums because they have an unfortunate habit of doing a jig on the roof outside our bedroom window at about 5.30 am at which stage you stand little chance of getting back to sleep.  The kids are always delighted to see them though.........awww!

Just recently Jules and I showed the kids some of the videos of the road trips we did before they were born.  We were watching a particular section of one when Tess dissolved into giggles for no apparent reason.  When she had finished giggling sufficiently to talk she said "but Mummy you were sprinting!!!".  This comment was followed by another "Mummy, I find it rather embarrassing that you're the only mother I know who doesn't do any exercise".  Now that last comment is not true although I've not been particularly diligent with my exercise recently and as such I have started attending an exercise class run by one of the school mums.  She's a Kiwi, incredibly fit and always very happy (on account of all those marvellous endorphins no doubt).  The exercise class serves 2 purposes for me: first and foremost I'm getting fit and it's like having a personal trainer - I have never known anyone to actually bother correcting and recorrecting my positioning for the various exercises we do so that I get maximum value out of them, and secondly I'm meeting lots of mums from the school whose names I've been vaguely familiar as Tess has often been in classes with their children but whom I've never actually met.  I've felt really rather sociable this week after my reclusive week last week.
Enjoying Manly
Playing in the water fountains in the Corso

The sun shone for about 5 hours this weekend, which was an event in itself after all the rain we've had, and some of those hours coincided with nippers.  Tom still maintains that he hates nippers because he doesn't like having to listen to the instructions on what to do.  Tess and I love nippers because we wander into Manly, get coffee/hot chocolate and then have a little swim - what's not to like?!
