Tess is second from the right
Tess and her friend Chloe modelling their recycled pieces
The school celebrated Education Week with an Open Day on Wednesday. Each of the year groups put on a performance and senior band, both dance groups and the drama group performed for the school. We set up the Senior band outside near the morning tea area and we were all amazed at how good they sounded out doors. Tom's year group got dressed up as robots and did a robot dance (no photos sadly) and Tess' year group had to create a wearable piece of art out of recycled materials. I taught Tess the basics of macrame and using strips of plastic bags she made a top and a handbag which ended up as a head piece.
Although Tom is built to play rugby he is very nervous of hurting himself and tends to stay a safe distance away from the ball at all times. His coach is brilliant and has been working hard to build up his confidence and get him more involved. At the game on Saturday Tom scored a try, did at least 1 great tackle and ended up being awarded Man of the Match. To make it even more special Uncle Robert was there watching his great performance.
Tess' netball team once again won their match - they remain undefeated so far this season and we have high hopes that they get through to the Finals.
Custard continues to get more settled but is still inclined to run away or at least ignore us when we try to call him. We've discovered that he loves cars and if a car has it's door open he will jump in and refuse to get out. We took him for a walk and a swim down at Clontarf and discovered that it was the annual "Dogs Day Out" which is a bit like a market but focused entirely on dogs with stalls offering training advice, leads, smart collars, beds, treats and a huge amount of paraphernalia. We had a quick walk round but it was a bit hectic with Custard wanting to say hello to every dog there.
