Netball, Band, 2 types of Rugby

The winter sports season is coming to a close.  Last weekend Tess' team suffered their first netball defeat in the semi-finals which meant they had a finals game this weekend.  Luckily they won and will meet the team that beat them in the Grand Finals next weekend.  It's a whole different level of netball and they're having the best games of the season, playing on hard courts which makes a huge difference, and with proper umpires which can be a bit of a shock to the system but it's great learning.

Tom had his last rugby game of the season and it was brilliant - he scored another try (that makes 1 a week for the past 3 weeks) and did lots of amazing tackling.  It's taken him a while but it looks like he's really beginning to get the game - phew because there's no way we're letting him give up!

The Senior Band participated in the NSW Band Festival on Sunday and got a Gold medal which was very well deserved as they played really beautifully.

This summer both kids will be playing touch rugby.  It's actually all about the parents because training for all teams is up at Tania Park on Sundays at 4pm and the games are down in Manly on a Friday afternoon.  We're hoping that as it warms up both training and games will involve a few glasses of wine and perhaps a sausage sizzle and dinner will be sorted!  Tess' team had their first training this afternoon run by Uncle Robert.  Robert was amazing and the girls had an absolute ball - they even managed to learn the basics and put them into practice!

It's an early night for the McPherson family - we're all exhausted!
