Tom's 8th birthday party

This year Tom chose to have a sleepover party for 4 of his mates.  We went to Manly Waterworks (it was freezing), played in the garden, ate vast amounts of lasagne and watched Crocodile Dundee before the boys went to sleep in our tent which we set up inside.  Tess had Olivia over to keep her company and they were very helpful in coming up with fun games for the boys to play.  The one thing Tom insisted on was party hats and he particularly wanted Custard to wear one.  Custard wasn't impressed!

Talking of Custard he ran away this week.  We went up to the park for a play/walk, I took my eyes off him for 2 minutes and he disappeared.  I looked round for ages, borrowed a friend's car to drive round the streets, came back to the park again and still couldn't find him.  The friend insisted on driving us home using the route we most commonly walk and out of the corner of my eye I spotted him down a side street.  Apparently he'd been there for almost 45 minutes and had nearly got run over!
