Jules received a heart-stopping phone call from John at work. Heart-stopping because it was in the middle of the day and John never phones him at work. The purpose of the call was to ask Jules to go and inspect a Mirror Dinghy that John had found on Gumtree. He's over twice this year and I think he's a bit worried about what he's going to do with himself. He needn't have been. I had a fairly substantial list. But that's gone out of the window now. It's just as well I'm quite so fond of him........
She needs a fair amount of work and somewhere to live once she's restored but I think we'll have a ball playing around with her.
My godson, Arthur, turned 13 on Saturday. He's the first child that I'm close to that's reached the teenage years so it made me feel a little old! We went round to the W-Ms for cake before Tess and I headed off to Taronga Zoo for a Bjorn Again concert which Tess declared the best night of her life. Jules and Tom joined the W-Ms at Ribs and Rumps for dinner which is pretty close to Tom's idea of heaven.

The Australian Open of Surfing started in Manly on Saturday. Tom and Jules went for an early surf on Saturday morning and then sat on the beach with hot chocolate and a bacon & egg roll whilst they watched the start of the competition. On Sunday they were joined by Arthur. Tom had a fantastic time surfing with his cousin.
