Tom's 9th birthday party

It was Tom's 9th birthday on Tuesday and he chose to go to Ribs & Rumps for dinner.  After a massive plate of ribs he also polished off a chocolate mousse!

His cake was a rather pathetic shop-bought affair.

On Friday afternoon Tom had a joint birthday party with his mate, Harry, for 25 of their friends.  Due to the weather forecast of 40+ degrees we moved the party to a harbour beach near us.  I took Custard for a walk down to the beach on Friday morning and found a "Pool Closed" sign.  We decided to ignore the sign.

The party was brilliant.  We started with "hunt the goggles", swim, egg & spoon, sack race, three-legged race, swim, treasure hunt, eat, swim, disco.  The grown-ups were exhausted!

On Sunday morning Tom had his first board carnival.  He came 8th in his heat and 10th in the final.
