Swimming Carnival

We had the school swimming carnival on Monday.  Tess and Tom both forgot to pack their goggles so I arrived to find them in a flap.  I'm fed up with buying endless pairs of goggles so I told them that they would have to contribute half the cost from their pocket money.  That sent them packing pretty quickly!  5 minutes later Tess was back with a proposal: if they shared 1 pair of goggles would I pay for them?  I figured that that level of problem solving and negotiation deserved some reward so I agreed.

Tom borrowed a pair of goggles for his first race but they were a bit loose!

Jules had a boys weekend in the Blue Mountains which involved lots of mountain bike riding, something Jules has not done before and really enjoyed, playing tennis and the odd beer.  He arrived back on Sunday afternoon and immediately had a nap!!  Whilst the boys were away the girls decided to go out for dinner.  We sat on the lower deck at Hugo's overlooking the water, drinking cocktails and generally putting the world to right - a fantastic evening.
