Waterpolooza

Tom and I spent the weekend in Canberra where Tom participated in the annual Waterpolooza water polo tournament.  This is the same tournament that Tom had to miss last year due to his broken leg and for him it was the hardest consequence of breaking his leg as it corresponded with him developing a passion for water polo and finding out that he was quite good at it.

The first game was on Friday night and when we got to the pool the coach handed out the team swimmers and t-shirts.  The t-shirts weren't too bad but the swimmers were truly dreadful - all very small and tight in an unattractive light grey colour.  We discovered as the boys changed ends during half-time of the first game that the swimmers, being unlined, turned see-through when wet!

It was a great tournament with the boys playing against 6 other teams and winning all of their games. The grand final was a very tense affair with some pretty violent play but our boys remained victorious with a 6-4 win.

Tom had a wonderful time as he spent the weekend with 2 of his best friends, Harry and Conner, who are both amazing water polo players.  We hope we will have many more games and tournaments together in the future.

Meanwhile back in Sydney Jules and Tess had a relatively quiet weekend.  It was the start of the basketball season for Tess and her team had a 24-14 win for their first game.  On Saturday evening Tess was invited to a Murder Mystery dress up party.  I asked her and Jules to take lots of photos but sadly they forgot and the 1 below is all I got.  

I know I'm biased but what a beautiful girl!
