The kids went back to school this week. I still felt like I was on holiday because Tom's swimming school has a 2 week break so that's a lot of mornings where we don't need to leave the house whilst it's still dark.
The weather has been totally glorious and we haven't needed to get the heaters out yet. That didn't stop Jules from buying a small fire pit to have in the garden. I noticed this morning that there's currently a complete fire ban in our area due to the heat and lack of rain - lucky a neighbour didn't report us!
On Saturday we went to Kate Duthie's 50th birthday party which was a real trip down memory lane catching up with lots of people that we have known for the past 19 years and some of whom we haven't seen in at least 10 if not more. It was not lost on us that Kate and Rob's gay friends have aged much better than those with children.........
Tess spent Sunday getting ready for school camp. She is quite an anxious person so was getting very stressed about going, who she'll be in a group with, who she'll sit next to on the bus etc etc. At least she's not worried about the physical aspect of it because she found our Tasmanian hike easy.
