Albert Le Blanc

When the kids were little one of our favourite books was called Albert Le Blanc by Nick Butterworth. Albert Le Blanc is a very sad looking polar bear and a kindly hippo tries to cheer him up by getting the other toys to put on a circus performance.  She ends up accidentally kissing him whilst wearing bright red lipstick which gives Albert a beautiful big smile on his sad face but he is very put out that everyone thinks he's sad as he's not at all, it's just the way his face is.  Ted reminds us of Albert Le Blanc with his sad-looking face and because he's so white too.

This is Ted's happy face

Tess' basketball team had their last game for the season on Saturday.  Tess wasn't allowed to play due to her stitches but we went along to support and to have brunch together afterwards.  It was a tough season as the girls were put in division 1 although none of them play club basketball.  They all had fun despite the weekly beatings!

Nipper board training is yet to start but because we're missing it so much (!) Tom has been joining in training with the kids in the age group above.  They're on malls which are really quite large and use a different paddling technique.  The trainer said it's no good wearing a wetsuit to paddle as your movement is too restricted so Tom did the training session in swimmers and rash vest - he was the only one to be that brave and note the trainer rugged up in a very warm jacket!

Saturday afternoon surf - Tom's out there somewhere
